The Jewish Heritage Museum and Axelrod Performing Arts Center Offer
Summer Israeli Film Festival
Freehold, NJ. May 28, 2015. As they have for the past two summers, The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County and the Axelrod Performing Arts Center are again co-sponsoring a summer Israeli Film Festival featuring two recently acclaimed films. On Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 7 pm the Museum will offer Mr. Kaplan, and on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 2 pm it will present The Green Prince. Admission is $10.00 per film.
Mr. Kaplan tells the story of Jacob Kaplan who, after fleeing Europe for Uruguay during WWII, built a quiet life. Now, at the age of 76, he begins to question his worth. After learning of a mysterious German prowling the shores of a nearby beach, he becomes convinced that he's found a Nazi in hiding and plans to expose him. Mr. Kaplan is a vivacious meditation on family, aging, and the drive for significance.
The Green Prince is an extraordinary documentary that recounts the true story of the son of a Hamas leader who emerged as one of Israel's prized informants, and the Shin Bet agent who risked his career to protect him.
For further information and reservations, please call the Museum at 732-252-6990 or visit www.jhmomc.org. The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County is located at 310 Mounts Corner Drive in Freehold Township. It is a 501 (c)(3) organization and handicapped accessible.
