ARCADIAN CHORALE TO SING “A FREEHOLD FA-LA-LA!”
On Friday, December 16, 2016 at 7:30 P.M., The Arcadian Chorale will present “A Freehold Fa-la-la!,” the borough’s much beloved annual holiday concert, sponsored by the Freehold Borough Arts Council. The concert will be held at St. Rose of RC Lima Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold, N.J.
The theme of the program is “The Gate of Heaven,” sacred music for the holidays by American composers. It will include masters such as Randall Thompson and Alan Hovhaness, as well as new works by Bob Chilcott and Seattle-based composer David Reznick.
“We are so happy to ring in the holiday season with our annual concert in Freehold,” said Marina Alexander, the Chorale’s Musical & Artistic Director. This is an event we have been part of for at least 15 years, and it truly reinforces the joys of the season and of community.”
"The Arcadian Chorale has been performing in Freehold Borough for many years and they always bring a high quality performance for the holiday season." Said Freehold Borough Arts Council President Jeff Friedman. "This is a show that everyone can enjoy, The FBAC is proud to support the Arcadian Chorale."
The Chorale will also perform seasonal favorites, including a jazzy arrangement of In Dulci Jubilo by composer Matthew Culloton, and a delightful setting of the American classic tune, Simple Gifts. The audience will be invited to raise their voices in a community carol sing, with Handel’s “Hallelujah” Chorus as the grand finale.
A member organization of the Freehold Borough Arts Council and of Monmouth Arts, Arcadian Chorale is now in its 24th year, and has brought inspiring musical performances to locations throughout Monmouth County. The ensemble is regularly invited to perform throughout the New York metro area, including several appearances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the NJPAC.
